The Congressional Black Caucus Must Help Pass the S.A.V.E. America Act

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) should be leading the charge to pass the S.A.V.E. America Act (aka “Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act”). But it is not, and will not because the CBC is so far removed from its 1971 founding purpose which was based on moving forward its Black “citizen” constituents. Instead, the 100-percent Democratic-comprised CBC continues to put the Party over its constituents in this 21st Century. Instead, the CBC fought for the passage of the Democrats’ H.R. 1 Bill known as “For the People Act” which would have allowed non-citizens to vote. How else can it be explained that the Democratic Party in the Biden Administration let millions of immigrants cross the border without vetting them and then began the process of strategically placing them in Black communities under the blanket of sanctuary cities?
We read and re-read the 700-plus pages of this Democratic bill to get to the “root cause” of why this bill was being pushed so passionately by the CBC. In fact, CBC members and their fellow Democrats told Blacks that if their bill did not pass, it would result in black voting suppression. This was a lie. Passage of the Democrats’ “For the People Act” bill would have resulted in non-citizens having a right to vote in any and all elections. (We went into full details on how this would have been pulled off in editorials at the time.)
The S.A.V.E. America Act was introduced to guarantee that ONLY American citizens would be allowed to vote, as constitutionally guaranteed in the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution which gave Black Americans citizenship after slavery. That amendment was part of the Emancipation Proclamation. The irony now is that it is the Congressional Black Caucus that seeks to dilute the Black Vote by allowing non-citizens to vote-- by allowing illegal immigrants to vote.
We urge the CBC to vote for the S.A.V.E. America Act to protect voting integrity and to do the will of Black American citizens. The CBC has 62 members which would serve as a sizable number to pass the bill. The CBC’s pro-vote is needed at this crucial time. Furthermore, we want to get each and every last one of CBC members ON THE RECORD on how they voted on the S.A.V.E. America Act, and, if they in fact, truly believe that Black American citizens are incapable of providing I.D. to vote. Yes, it is past the midnight hour that the CBC is held accountable to the Black citizen—with “Citizen” being the key word.
The CBC must vote YES on the Save America Act, and, to reiterate, each CBC member must go on the record on how he or she voted!
Citizens must contact their congressional members to make their voices heard.
